In case my internet totally goes psycho, here is the story.

Cheyanne trotted along through the newly budded forest. The fresh emerald grass was cool, and the dew caused the grass to tickle and itch at her wet paws. She shook one, and then licked the snow-white heart shaped locket on her chest. She had been aimlessly wandering for six days now, thinking. “Cheyanne, where are you?” She heard someone call in the distance. The voice wasn’t deep nor high, just normal and full of worry. She knew it was Vijay. There was another voice, soft and sweeter, but about the same tone as Vijay’s. She knew that was his beloved sister Selket. Selket was also calling her name.

The search party was growing closer, she could tell. Cheyanne knew she had to hide. Depression overwhelmed her. She couldn’t be seen by her friends. Not like this. Funny thing was she had no idea why. She looked for a route of escape. Her eyes caught a large oak tree near by. She scaled the tree like a pro. The bark crackled and snapped under her razor sharp claws. She leapt stealthily onto a low, leafy branch. The others came into the clearing below.

First out was Vijay and Selket. Both were sleek and elegant, though mysterious, with their Siamese masks, and their stunning blue eyes. Then Jacques, a tonkinese, appeared. He looked similar to a Siamese, but if you knew about a tonkinese, you’d know he was one. He was slightly on the sensitive side about being called a Siamese. Cheyanne smiled at the memories of when she first called him Siamese. He got a bit snappy. Cole was next in line. He plopped down under the tree Cheyanne was in. She could see the sun hitting his jet black fur just right so the dew made him sparkle. Sophie, Squeakers, Bea, Truman, Ben and Marina all came out of the brush next. Cheyanne longed to be down there with them. She couldn’t though. She stepped further onto the branch, when suddenly, it snapped.

She came crashing down along with it, landing right in front of Cole, who fluffed up and hissed, startled. “Cheyanne!” Ben exclaimed, pouncing on her. “There you are!” “Hey Benny.” She said, still embarrassed about the fall. The other cats gathered around the young black feline as she got up and shook the dirt from her glossy fur. They head butted her in greeting. “Let’s go home.” Vijay happily exclaimed. Cheyanne didn’t want to go. Being her stubborn self, she turned and ran. The others followed in quick pursuit, attempting to calm her and make her come back home.

Suddenly, she tripped, springing to her feet as soon as she hit the ground, she realized she had tripped over another cat. He looked Siamese for the most part, with the seal points. She cautiously approached the motionless figure and felt for pulse. It was faint, but present. She assessed the damage quickly. His front left leg was swollen and his left shoulder had a large gash in it. She took another step to look closer and saw what caused that gash. A bullet lay next to the torn feline. Her eyes widened and she held her breath. Humans. They were around, and hunting cats again. None of the cats knew why humans did this. They were evil creatures, to be feared by all.
She gently nuzzled her way under the unconscious cat, to where she was supporting him on her back. She took off running, fast as she could, towards the den. She dodged the other cats, confusing them, and stopping them in their tracks. They swerved and followed her.

She soon arrived at the den, laying the cat on a pile of soft leaves as the fluffy black medicine cat, Aragorn, and his Siamese assistant, Toulouse went to work. Cheyanne sat back a few feet, watching quietly as the team fixed up the injured feline. When the other cats arrived, Selket sat at one side of her and Jacques at the other. It was clear she wasn’t to run again. Vijay and Aragorn spoke quietly, approaching Cheyanne afterwards. Vijay began. “Cheyanne, we’ve decided you get to take care of this one.” She shot him a glance as if to protest, but he continued. “You know how when Cole found you, Selket took care of you? You’ll be similar to Selket.” With that, they walked off leaving her alone with the still unconscious Siamese.

The next day, Cheyanne awoke abruptly to a sharp kick in her stomach. “What the?!” She started, but then saw what had happened. The other cat was dreaming.

Suddenly, she heard something outside. Shooting a glance at the others, she crept outside to investigate. She stayed low in the shadows, her black fur blending her in. She was about to turn back when suddenly, a bullet stung her paw. She ran. It was painful, and made her paw bleed worse, but she didn’t care. She had to get away. Humans were evil creatures, never to be trusted. Since her paw left a crimson trail, she new she couldn’t go home. That would lead them right to her friends.

The human’s were catching up quickly. More bullets stung the ground around her. She did the only thing she could, fall. She hit the ground hard, and what was worse, she slid head first into a tree. Am not having a good week. She thought. The men approached. She held her breath and closed her eyes, lying still as ever. One big burly man picked her up by the scruff. “D’ya thinks ‘es dead, Bill?” “I don-no.” the other man, “Bill” said. “Maybe we oughtta t’row ‘im in the river, jus’ in case.”

The first man pulled his arm back to throw the young cat, but before he could, two cats literally flew out of the trees, landing on each of the men’s heads. Both of the men flailed around like headless chickens, cursing and screaming. Cheyanne was dropped to the ground, where she gasped for breath. Her vision blurred, she couldn’t make out who the cats were, but one was black and the other was moving to fast. He looked whitish-tan. She slowly began to drag herself to a bush nearby.

The men ran, and the cats leapt off. They ran over to where Cheyanne was and began helping her back. The black cat was Cole, and he was very shaken from all the excitement. Her vision was still fuzzy, so she couldn’t tell who the other was. She thought it was Vijay until he told Cole something. “Vijay, what’s wrong with your voice?” she spoke through the pain in her paw. He looked at her and boasted, “I ain't Vijay! I'm handsomer!” Cheyanne giggled. “I AM handsomer though.” He told her, winking. Then she realized it was the Siamese cat she rescued. “So whats your name then?” the little black cat asked. “Simba!” He said. They arrived at the den soon after.

In the den, Cheyanne collapsed in her spot. Aragorn came over and fixed up her paw. That’s when she fell asleep. In her dreams she relived the whole thing, and awoke suddenly, looking around in the dark for something that wasn’t there. She rolled onto her back, while her rapid breathing slowed to normal. She flipped to her side, and fell into a deep, more peaceful slumber.

Three months later, Cheyanne was back to her old self. She went hunting regularly with the others, and frequently sneak-pounced everything in site. Simba was now a full member of the clan as well. He and Cheyanne played for hours at a time, and over the weeks, they had become good friends. They often curled up together at night. Some of the cats began to wonder, but kept their thoughts to themselves.

One morning, Cheyanne awoke and pounced on Simba. “Hey, watch the handsome meezer fur!” he said, tackling her. Suddenly, their play was cut short. Leo, one of the newer clan members, came running from the back of the den. “Fire!” he wailed! Sure enough, flames soon roared out of the back of the den. “Run!” yelled Cheyanne, taking off in a mad dash out the door, Simba running just as fast as her. The others followed in a mad frenzy, only to be captured by three humans.

They cats were thrown into the back of a large gray van. All were in net bags, paired up two cats per. Driven away, for a long while, then taken out and thrown into a strange room. The floor was dirt, and the walls were stone. There was one small barred window. It was cold and dark.

Cheyanne and Simba were first to chew through the net bags. It felt weird to stand again, and it took them a long while to stretch out their cramped muscles. They went around, helping the others escape their nets, and soon, everyone was resting. “What’re we going to do now?” asked Jacques. “I’ll tell you what we’re gonna do.” Cheyanne spoke. “Use any means necessary to escape.” Together the cats came up with ideas, organized their planned, and worked out a system to begin their escape.

Marina, Leo and Cali started digging a tunnel, while Selket, Jacques and Truman stood watch. Vijay, Cole, Apollo and Aragorn were straining to listen at the door to the prison, and Cheyanne, Simba, Squeakers, Ben and the rest of the cats were searching for food. They hadn’t eaten in days, and they were beginning to show it. Their coats were loosing glossiness, and they were becoming thin and weak. “My poor, handsome meezer belly.” Simba complained. “I could really go for an anchovy pizza right now!” He continued, describing the tastes and texture of the luscious food. The other cats began to drool at the thought.

Suddenly, Truman spied a man heading their way. “He’s coming!” He shouted. All the cats except for Cheyanne went into hiding. Cheyanne lay in front of the door, and howled. She squalled and screeched like s dying goose. The man came in. However, he didn’t shut the door behind him totally. Simba silently snuck behind the man, pawed the door open a bit further, and went out. The other cats followed, watching Cheyannes act.

The man continued walking toward Cheyanne. He lay his hand on her side and she wailed louder and hissed. “Looks like your too badly injured to be of use now.” He said, pulling a gun out of his pocket. He knelt down next to Cheyanne, pointing the barrel in her face. She swallowed hard. He wasn’t supposed to have that. Cheyanne was staring death in the eye.

Just as the man was going to pull the trigger, Simba flew at him, clawing fiercely. The man dropped the gun and flailed around trying to dislodge the cat. Cheyanne sprang up and twisted around the man’s feet, tripping him. He knocked his head against stone wall, sending him out cold. The cats hit the ground too, but landed on their feet. They instantly bolted, meeting up with the others outside the building and traveled to a new, human-less land.

When they arrived, they were exhausted, even Simba and Cheyanne. Luckily, a hawk had flown over and dropped a full grown rabbit. The cats all shared until they had the strength to hunt more. They began to dig a den and at the end of the night, everyone was drained. They all pretty much collapsed where they were.

Cheyanne snuggled up to Simba. The nights were getting colder and longer, and winter would be arriving soon. It was a new beginning for the clan. New place, new cats, and new friends to be made. To Cheyanne, it was perfection.
