Cat Trek -- Episode 3, We're Out!

The turbolift opened as I came prancing onto the bridge. "Whats going on?" I asked ChevIs. "Ion storms just popped up everywhere! This nebula has gone crazy!!" He looked at me with worry as he moved out of the captains chair. I hopped up and looked out the viewscreen. "Ensign, get us out of here!" I shouted at Ensign Yahjev (pronounced yah-gehv) he began taking us out of the dangerous nebula as fast as he could. I dug my claws into the soft leather of the captains chair, as the ship rocked from the lightning-like objects stung the shields. "Shields at 85 %!" ChevIs said, repeatedly checking his readings. "How close are we to out?" I asked, eyes fixed on the storm. "Not very..." Yahj replied. You could tell he was concentrating hard.

One incredibly strong bolt sent the unexpcting bridge crew flying. I crashed into the bulkhead, and ChevIs almost squished me!! No doubt, I certainly had a mouthful of fluffy black Kling-cat tail! Korvik, poor guy, went flying into Ensign Breghs control panel, and Bregh? She landed on her head near Korviks station. Lt. Nikana was sliding across the floor, and her twin, Lt. Nikita was stuck to the ceiling. What a pitiful sight we were.

However, only for a second or two. The next, everyone scrambled to there feet, I spit out ChevIs fur, and Nikana was helping her sister down from the ceiling. Some cats claws are like velcro. "Shields are gone!" Breghs said. "Switching to emergency power. Weapons are down, life support at 50%, deck 9 & 10 have minor hull breaches, containing those with force fields, no one was there at the time . . ." as she continued running through the report, Yahj began moving us away again. He was a fairly skilled pilot, but got caught off-guard every now and then, but he was learning. I was beginning to see the darkness of space! We were getting closer!

Just as we got into space, our set of starboard necelles were hit. "BA-BOOM!!!!!!" We felt that one, for sure!! So much for warp drive. With our starboard set of necelles, we were sitting ducks. "Captain," Korvik started. "We're being hailed by the other starship." We barely had life support, let alone the weopons and shields needed to take on another starship! "On screen," I said. "Lets see if we can negotiate our way out of this." In that moment, no one on the bridge of the Enterclaws breathed.

Cat Trek -- Episode 2 - Academy Days

While on route to Tecarta Prime, we came across another starship. Until they passed out of range, we were forced to hide in a nearby nebula, where many of the crew were able to relax and catch some shut-eye -- including me. While in my quarters, I replicated a package of beef jerky - an ancient earth delicasee. I loved the taste of teriyaki jerky before bed.

When I walked into my room, and curled on my bed, I gazed across the room at a medel I had won when I first became a cadet at the Academy. They say you dream of what your thinking of. So that night, I dreamt of the academy.

________________________________________________________
I was walking down the way, near the garden where old Boothby would sit in the sun. It was then that I heard a scream. I ran towards the sound, soon coming upon a building engulfed in flames. As I got closer, I was stopped by a firecat. Suddenly, I heard a mother cat begging the fighters to get her kitten - he was still inside!
Im not sure what came over me in that moment... whether it was just something triggered in my mind, or instinct, I'll never know. I ducked under the baracade, and ran into that building at warp 4! (maybe not quite that fast, but close!) The mews were faint, but distinct through the roaring of the flames, and I followed them, until I came to a small, soot-covered kitten. He looked up at me with pitiful kitten eyes, as I picked him up and began the journey to the exit.
My dream began to fill with the same song that went through my head at that moment. It was an old country song, from the mid to late-1900's.
I ran through the flames, eyes burning as the smoke grew stronger and thicker. Well I won't back down, no I won't back down. You can stand me up at the gates of hell, but I won't back down. The kitten got as close to me as he could, poor little guy. I dodged a few flames, and saw the light from the outdoors. I began a mad dash, trying to keep the kitten as much out of harms way as possible, when a door frame in front of us collapsed, bursting into flames. Gonna stand my ground, won't be turned around and I'll keep this world from draggin' me down, gonna stand my ground and I won't back down. Hey baby, there ain't no easy way out. Hey I will stand my ground and I won't back down. I leapt over the flames, landing just outside the door, and darted into the yard just as the house fell. Panting, I set the little kitten down in the cool grass as his mother, the emergency squad and other civilians - including reporters - came running over. My fur was singed, and my lungs were full of smoke that ached all throughout my wind pipe and chest. My eyes were bloodshot. I was sore and my paws were burned, but the fact that I knew I saved the little fellas life was good enough for me. There were a small grouping of other cadets from the academy there too.
The mother cat approached me, snuggling her kitten close. "Thank you so much," she said. "How can I ever repay you?" "No payment nessecary," I replied. "Just doing my job!" I stood straight, making sure my communicator stood out bright in the sun, and smiled at the mother cat and the kitten. Then came those danged reporters... "What made you want to do this?" "Why did you go in there?" "You risked your life for this family, why?" For a few seconds, I thought up how to end it. I decided on the last bit of the song. "Well I know what's right, I got just one life. In a world that keeps on pushin' me around but I stand my ground and I won't back down." With that, I walked off. My paws sore, and my fur all ash-y. If you would've looked at before/after pics, the after would've looked pitiful! I was certainly in need of a good grooming!
On my way home, the group of cadets stopped me. "That was a purrty nice thing ya did for them out there, ya know!" one said. "You should hang out with us sometime!" I agreed to meet with them at the academy restraunt. For now, however, it was time to head home.
The next day, I met up with them. There was four total. One, a handsome young siamese cadet, Simba, another, a black tabby Kling-cat, named Alexander. The third was a little white cat named River. She had bright blue eyes. Last but not least was a patched tabby named Sarabi. We joked about having five starships, all named after feet! Mine was the Enterclaws! (I called it) River's was the Heeler, Alex had the Ankle, Sarabis was the Ring, and Simbas was the Pinky Toe! We had a great time, and met there every day for the next year, when we graduated. For awhile, we kept in touch, until the Wolf 359 incident, then we all lost contact.
_______________________________________________________________
I awoke suddenly, to the shake of the ship. "Captain? We need you here!!" ChevIs called over the comunicator frequency. I crawled out of bed, and hurried to the bridge, as the red alert alarm resounded through the ship.

Cat Trek -- Episode 1, Taking Over

Today, I've taken command of the Starship Enterclaws, a Panther class starship. It’s the first of its kind, and even has a camouflage to it. It blends with its surrounding space, hence the name Panther Class. It’s very much like an Intrepid, but with four nacelles that spread apart. In those nacelles are The Battle Bays. Small fighter ships are docked in there.

As I walked onto the bridge of the Enterclaws, everyone snapped to attention at Lieutenant ChevIs' words "Captain on the Bridge." I was startled for a moment. We had just taken over the ship, and I certainly wasn’t used to this kind of attention! “Go about your business everyone,” I replied. “No special attention needed.” They did as they were told, and I hopped up into The Captains Chair, with my tail curled around, and the sneaky, darkside, ‘I rule’ smirk on my face that many new captains have.

See, we were on a scouting mission, and we had come across strange alien transwarp trails – The Borg. The Borg are after a relentless pursuit of assimilation to “better” themselves into the perfect race. They are organic life forms made up of different species, with enhanced physical and mental capabilities. They adapt to new weapons and technologies faster then I could clean a plate of beef jerky!

Anyway, we followed the trail to a pre-warp planet where a Borg Cube began the assimilating process. On the view screen, I could see the deadly neon green assimilation beam stretching to the planet from their hull. How I hated them and what they did to those innocent creatures. “Take us away.” The Captain ordered. That’s when I piped up. “What? We can’t just leave them like this!” “Commander,” the Captain started out. “You know as well as I do that interfering with a pre-warp civilization is against The Prime Directive.” “Oh, and we’ve never broken that before?” I challenged. “In my office.” He said. “By the time we reach that door, those people will be assimilated!” I said. I could see ChevIs stiffening, and the hairs on his back beginning to bristle. The Captain stated again, “Take us out of here.” No one moved. “ChevIs,” I began, “Why don’t you escort the Captain away.” Suddenly, the Captain pulled out his phaser and fired at me, only to be fired upon and hit by ChevIs. I had ducked. I immediately sprung into action. “Fire quantums on the Borg ship. Give ‘em all we’ve got!” Commander Korvik went into action, moving his Vulcan hands across the panels as fast as he could.

The Enterclaws moved into action. It swooped in upon the Cube, firing at the assimilation beam, and disabling it first. It started on the weapons next. With in five minutes, the cube was destroyed. We had saved over half of the people on the planet, and helped them stock necessary supplies to rebuild the damage, and also dropped off our unconscious ex-Captain. There was only one problem. We had created a serious crime against the Prime Directive. From this point forward, we were on our own. We had made a very powerful enemy.
